Days Like This, a quick layout with Karine

I'm here today to share my last layout.

Days Like This

For this layout, I used three colors: Deep Blue Sea Vibez, Rock-a-fella Blue Spritz and Mama Sings the Blues Coloringz. I was after a monochromatic look.

I love the different shades of blue I got.

I thought the colors went well with this Craft and You Design paper called Spring Garden01.

Wintry journal page with Astrid

Hello Shimmerz friends! Today I have a little wintry journal spread to share with you.
This is a page in my mini journal created with the help of the Eileen Hull minibook die.
At this time of year we are all looking for quick and easy projects right? Well, this could easily be adapted for a card as well of course.

I started with a piece of neutral coloured Scrapbook paper, gave it a coat of clear gesso and when dry added colour with 3 different sprays and also one of the Dazzlers, a shimmering dimensional paint:
All of these sprays are subtly different, do check out the Shimmerz Shortz, you can find them at the top of each different section on the website.
Anyway, back to my project: I sprayed my tree spays, mainly aiming and the center of my pages, dries with my heatgun and then used the Dazzler paints with my finger to create some texture and of course wonderful shimmer.

Well, as you can see already, - next came some snowflakes, created by scraping the Dazzler through a stencil, while the paint was still wet I then added some Distress Glitter in Vintage Platinum, for some extra sparkle.

Now for some embellishments: I cut various leaf dies from white card, sprayed them with my sprays, but because this time the card had not been coated with clear gesso, the colour sunk in much faster and the tones became a little deeper.

I again dabbed on some of the Dazzlerz and sprinkled on some glitter for some additional texture and sparkle.
Some words, using Tim Holtz small tal stickers were given a little more depth by going around them with a small paintbrush dipped in the Don't Be Suede Coloringz, and that was pretty much it.

I love this particular wintry colour combination, if you would like to get your hands on some, - it's easy: Just click here

Thanks for your visit today and have fun with your own holiday crafting!

My Little Frosty Man

Hello Shimmerz fans! Today I have a winter layout of my special friend Olaf…he is my cutie pie furry friend and a part of our family.

In the background surrounding the photo, I did some shading with Mama Sings the Blues Coloringz and Steely Blue Eyes Inklingz. Add a bit spray of water to blend them.
The Creative Embellishments chipboard is finished with gesso, beads and a coat of Spotlight White Inklingz for some added Shimmer!

I finished it all off with splatters of Penny 4 Your Thoughts and Steely Blue Eyes Inklingz..along with a few splatters of Ride My Tide Creameez.
On your next order mention my name in the comments at check out and Stacey will send you something extra! Check out our Facebook page for lots of inspiration and share with us what you created with Shimmerz! Take care and happy scrapping!

December's Love Letters....

Hello December!

Can you believe it's only 25 days until Christmas?

Today's Love Letters is a December Calendar Project.  Perfect for planners, journals and cards.

I used Shimmerz Paints of course.  I often reach for the watercolour pots.  Aqua Huez are a flat colour, with no sheen, Inklings are a shimmery blend.  I chose bright colours with a mix of these two ranges for the christmas lights.

See the Quick video here......

I used some good quality watercolour paper (Canson) which stands up well to water.

1. Wet the paint pots with clear water to activate the paint
2. Sketch out your design in pencil
3. Dampen the area with the lights with clear water
4. Using a watery mix dab the paints onto the wet light shapes encouraging flow outside the lines
5. Let dry and then add another layer on top staying within the lines this time to define the light shapes
6. Add another layer in neccessary for the depth of colour.
7.  Using a while gel pen add in 'shine lines' on the lights
8.  Using a watery mix of black aquahuez add a shadow to the letters

Visit the Shimmerz Store to see all the gorgeous colors in the many ranges on offer!

Have an Awesome December and enjoy the Christmas season!
