Love Canvas with Shona

Hello Shimmerz fans!! Today I have part two of the baby gifts I made. A fun canvas loaded with Shimmerz color! The photo is my grand daughter and I put a new baby pic in its place.

I used all the same colors from the jar set I made earlier this month. Texture and dimension were added to the background first with some crackle paste and Shimmerz Salt of the Earth Paste-eez. Bed of Roses Spritz and Hot Fudge Vibez dazzled up this pretty canvas to create a girly grunge canvas

The Creative Embellishments chipboard is finished with a coat of Spotlight White Inklingz. To finish the canvas off I added some slashes of Inklingz in Penny 4 Your Thoughts and Coral Reef.

Check out our Facebook page for lots of inspiration and share with us what you created with Shimmerz! Look for us on Instagram too! Don’t forget to mention my name at the store checkout for your free sample of Shimmerz!!

Take care and happy scrapping!

Felicity/ Easter layout using Actritonez and Aqua Huez

Hello Shimmerz fans,
Easter is not far away and shimmerz has some really beautiful shimmery colours to help document Easter this year. Today I have a layout using a real mix of products.

Products used: Aqua huez - Little Lily/ crazy daisy / blue me away / little boy blue
Actritonez - 3 sheets to the wind / pinkadelic
Coloringz - pink stiltoes / heidi ho blue
Vibez - jeni B Blue/ sweet heart

First off for my background I mixed some Actritonez with coloringz. The Actritonez acted as my gesso because there self priming and would stop the coloringz from bleding through the page.  I added is some Aqua Huez and paint splatters.

I started then building my page. I pop in some of those flowers that I made with paste-eez and coloringz. Pop to this video to see how I made them.

I used some scrap pieces of paper to create some of my own colour cardstock with the left over shimmerz. You can see the purple at the top of the page and the round circle.

Here is a process video to see how i made this layout with Shimmerz.

"Mr. Right" Layout with Nicole

Hello Shimmerz Fans!

Today I have this fun, bright and colorful layout for you!  My desk has been swimming with papers and embellishments from the new Pink Paislee "Oh My Heart" collection and I couldn't help myself to pull out several of my Shimmerz paints that coordinate with this collection!  Here are some of the fantastic colors I found that coordinate with this collection VERY well:

Once I pulled my Shimmerz together, I really wasn't sure how this was all going to begin, but I knew I wanted a lot of color and I knew I wanted to use an open font cut file that I cut from my Silhouette.  I really wanted a messy watercolor background to compliment the papers I used, so I decided to cut my title, "Mr. Right," and back it with the papers that matched the Shimmerz I had chosen. Once I had my cut file backed, I  made watercolor splotches with my brush and the packaging technique and lots of splashes behind the title.  I kept the coordinating water colors and papers together...for example, the letter "G" in "Right" was an orange paper with pink polka dots, so I used the Inklingz "Can't Elope," behind that letter and the letter "R" was blue, so I kept the "Little Boy Blue" Aqua Huez behind that letter and so on.

When I adhered my title, I used a lot of foam squares so it stood up off my page to create a shadow and more depth to compliment all the water coloring.  I layered my photo with just tissue paper since there was so much color already in the layout. I used some of the coordinating ephemera from the collection and added that along with enamel dots around the photo and beside the "M."  To finish up the layout, I added three lines of journaling and my date centered under the title.

Here is the beautiful array of colors that I used on this layout:

The Aqua Huez are currently being discontinued and are DISCOUNTED in the shop! Be sure to head over and grab your favorite colors before they are gone!!  HERE is the link to that sale!

Mixing Shimmerz to Create a Background with Missy

Hey, friends!  Missy here, and I'm back to share a new layout combining a ton of Shimmerz Paints.  I've had this gorgeous geometric heart cut file in my files for a while.  It's from Just Nick Studio, and I decided to cut it on some white cardstock and create my own stencil.  I placed the stencil over another sheet of white cardstock and went to town with all kinds of Shimmerz.

I used some of the new Paste-eez and Acritonez as well as some Coloringz, Vibez, Inklingz and Creameez.  I used an old credit card to smudge some paste over the stencil, and I used some plastic packaging, a brush, my finger...a little bit of everything!  I embellished with some bits and pieces from an old Hip Kit, including some exclusive die cuts and stickers.  I also fussy cut some flowers from a Simple Stories paper, some Crate Paper rubber charms, some wood veneer and a Freckled Fawn puffy word sticker.

To get this beautiful and colorful background, I used some washi tape to hold the stencil to the background paper.  Since the inner pieces are so thin, I had to apply all the Shimmerz very carefully so I wouldn't tear them.  I mixed and match so many of the colors.  I also added some splattering.  Here you can see how gorgeous the colors look together.  This is a mix of Paste-eez Raspberry Sherbet & Hold the Mustard as well as Acritonez Pinkadelic, Coloringz Pretty in Pink, Mandarin Mai Tai, Vibez Sweetheart and Inklingz Beets Me.

I used lots of blues and aquas including Acritonez Blue My Top, Coloringz Well Blue Me Down & Heidi Ho Blue, Vibez Snow Way Man, Inklingz Me & Blue and Blue Lagoon.  I used a few of the Hip Kit Project Life cards as layers behind my photo and then layered the flowers around the edges.  I also added some fun foam under it for dimension as well as some tangled thread.

I just love how this turned out!  I made sure to let the pinks dry first before coming in with the blues.  You can see how the blue stands out on top of the pink.  That's because I let it dry before mixing.

I love how easily the Shimmerz products blend and work together.  The pastes blend with the acrylics, and they blend with the liquids as well.  You can't beat that :)

Here's one more close up of the photo area.  The dimension here turned out really nice.  I love the shadowing it creates!

I have a process video to share of this page...I hope you enjoy and get some inspiration!

Vintage tag with Astrid

Hello Shimmerz friends! Today I am sharing my second project for March, - a large tag (size #10)

These are the yummy Shimmerz products I used:

Paste-Eez: Puttin On The Glitz
Inklingz: Tarnished Treasure
Spritz: Treasured Hymn
Vibez: Quit Yer Wine-n

I have a few process photos which I will share with you below:
I covered my tag with random strips of paper and then layered on some of the Paste-Eez, using my fingers. While this was still wet I sprinkled some embossing powder into the wet paste and then dried with my heatgun.
Here you can see the textures this creates a bit better. The paste has such a lovely creamy consistency, almost like whipped cream.
I wanted to add some crackle, as I love the effect the sprays have when you spritz it on. This time I used Tim Holtz's Crazing medium, again putting it on quite thickly with my fingers which created some nice largish crackle.

The stencilling was done with a black Distress Crayon.
This little Spring Fairy digitally created and then fussy cut became my focal image. I added some shadows with the help of the Tarnished Treasure Inklingz and a Stabilo All pencil.

Well, that was pretty much it apart from just a little stamping in the background.

And like usual, if you want to order some product from the store and want a free gift, - just follow the guidelines below.
